The Bloomberg Student Center, the first dedicated space for students to socialize in the university’s history, opened its doors in August. Spanning four floors at the southeastern edge of Homewood campus, the light-filled center offers a variety of comfortable seating areas and opportunities to connect, create, and collaborate.
In the soaring atrium, colorful light fixtures echo those in the Gilman atrium, which themselves echo the vessels in the Hopkins Archaeological Museum. Meeting, practice, lounge, gaming, reflection, media, recording, exhibition, and performance spaces are available for use by individuals and student clubs and groups, with the spaces designed to meet evolving student needs and interests. The food hall offers global flavors by four local vendors, and a sit-down restaurant includes a fireplace, bar, and taproom. Outside, students spend time together in the plaza, commons, and green spaces.
