Nelson Block ’73 (social and behavioral sciences) received the Silver Buffalo Award from the Boy Scouts of America—the group’s highest award for service to youth. A Scout leader for almost 50 years and pro bono legal counsel to his local Scout council, he is also one of the world’s leading experts of Scouting history.
James Castracane ’82 (PhD, physics) was a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Scholarship and Creative Activities, which recognizes outstanding productivity and teaching. He is professor and head of nanobioscience constellation at SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.
