Michael Reid Fenzel ’89 (economics) was promoted last October to Brigadier General in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. His awards include the Bronze Star for Valor, the Defense Meritorious Service Award, and the Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award. He is author of the book, No Miracles: The Failure of Soviet Decision-Making in the Afghan War.
Suber Huang ’80 (natural sciences) is the 2018 recipient of the Jose Rizal International Medal from the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, given to an outstanding ophthalmologist who has demonstrated excellence in the field in the Asia-Pacific region.
