Collective Creativity

Divya Nair ’23, outgoing co-president of bARTimore at Hopkins, works on the mural she and co-president Eesha Verma ’23 designed and painted together on the first floor of The Allston apartment building in Charles Village, where many JHU students live.

bARTimore is a 50-member painting and muralling club dedicated to connecting Baltimore and Johns Hopkins through art and murals. Since 2019, members have completed three large mural projects, in addition to smaller themed projects throughout the year.

“Oftentimes we view art as an individual project, but in bARTimore I made a lot of friends doing these collaborative types of murals, and it’s been a great way to meet people as well as de-stress and bring out some of my creative side,” Nair says.
